Photo - Exhibition in Archaeological Museum

A photo exhibition of the National Museum of the Republic of Serbia "Central Balkans between the Greek and the Celtic world, Kale-Krševica 2001.-2011" was opened in the garden of the Archaeological Museum of Thessaloniki, on the 10th of October.

The exhibition was organized on the initiative and with the support of the Consulate General of the Republic of Serbia in Thessaloniki, with the idea to bring closer to Greek audiences, as well as diaspora, past and area where the remains of Greek civilization, on one hand, and numerous traces of Celtic presence in southern Serbia, on the other hand, were found.

Director of the museum Poliksenija Adam-Velen and Consul General Sinisa Pavic were addressed the audience, while the author, Peter Popovic, briefly introduced site, noting that the results exceeded expectations and the local character. The remains of an urban settlement from the early 4th century BC and Greek pottery and, on the other hand, the presence of traces of Celtic from 2th century BC, indicate Kale as a rare site in the region, that testified about the meeting and interaction of the two cultures of that time.

As a part of the exhibition, it is scheduled to be held a lecture on the Kale-Krševica site in mid-December. The exact date will be announced later.

The exhibition is open every day until January 2014.
